Boopi privacy policy

Boopi, the AI meeting notes and chat app for iPhone and Mac, by JARAMAH INC. Last updated November 4, 2026.

The short version

  • Your chats, meetings, transcripts and notes are saved on your iPhone or Mac, not on our servers.
  • Speech is turned into text on your device by Apple's speech recognition. On a Mac, Boopi keeps no sound at all; on an iPhone, a meeting's recording stays on the phone.
  • When Boopi writes an answer or a meeting's notes, the text it needs is sent through our server to OpenAI, and nothing is kept afterward. You choose whether to allow this; Apple Intelligence on your device works without it.
  • No ads, no tracking across apps, and we never sell your data.

What stays on your device

Your conversations and their titles, recorded meetings (the transcript, Boopi's notes, the questions you ask about them, photos and documents you add, and on iPhone the recording itself), and your settings. Deleting a chat or meeting, Settings → Delete all chats, or deleting the app removes them. API keys you add are kept in your device's Keychain.

Recording meetings and calls

On iPhone, Boopi records a meeting only after you tap Start, and turns the sound into text on your iPhone. The recording is kept on your iPhone so you can replay any moment; it is never uploaded.

On Mac, Boopi listens only while you are recording a call: to the sound your Mac plays (the other people on the call) and to your microphone (you). It turns both into text on your Mac and labels lines as "Me" or "Others". It keeps no sound. macOS asks your permission for the microphone and for recording your Mac's sound, and you can turn either off in System Settings.

Always ask everyone before you record. In some places, recording or transcribing a conversation without everyone's consent is against the law. Boopi reminds you each time, but getting consent is your responsibility.

What the AI receives

To answer, the app sends the conversation you're in (your messages and Boopi's earlier answers in that chat) to our server, run on Cloudflare, which passes it to OpenAI and streams the answer back. For a meeting, it sends the transcript and the words read from photos and documents you added, never the sound, the photos or the files themselves. We ask OpenAI not to store these requests, and they aren't used to train AI models. Our server keeps no copy. It keeps only daily message counts for an anonymous device ID (a random number made by the app, or an Apple App Attest key), deleted after two days, to stop abuse and keep costs in check.

If you add your own Claude or OpenAI key, your messages go straight from your device to that company under your own account and their privacy terms. If you choose Apple Intelligence, everything runs on your device and nothing is sent to us.

Photos, documents and talking

Words in photos and documents you add are read on your device (Apple's Vision and PDFKit). Only those words go to the AI. When you talk to Boopi, your speech is turned into text on your device and sent like a typed message; Boopi's voice is made on your device. Nothing is recorded while you talk to Boopi.

Reminders and other apps

If you send a meeting's to-dos to Reminders, they are added to the Reminders app on your device, with your permission. If you send them to Quill, Quill opens and asks you before adding them.

AI answers

AI can be wrong, and speech recognition can mishear names and numbers. Check anything important, and don't rely on Boopi for medical, legal or financial decisions.

Children

Boopi isn't directed to children under 13, and we don't knowingly collect their information.

Your choices

You can turn off sending to AI companies, or switch to Apple Intelligence, in Settings at any time, and delete your chats and meetings there. Because we don't keep your chats or meetings on our servers, there is nothing else to delete; daily counts expire on their own.
